Offsite adoption At The Collective

Have you been to At The Collective yet?

At The Collective is located at 280 Elizabeth Street, Atlanta, 30307 and it's a shop that literally has everything!

On August 8 from 11-2 they'll be having offsite adoptions too! Great dogs, just chilling out eating doggie ice cream, snacking on treats and waiting for you.

Pop on down to Inman Park and visit the offsite adoptions At The Collective, Aug. 8, 11-2.

Watch out for this scam

The scam is this:

A 'vet' contacts an animal shelter saying that they have recently upgraded their equipment and would like to donate an ultrasound and an autoclave.

Dr. Christie Darryl is the name of this vet that they're using. Google that name and you'll see a litany of fraud.

PAWS Atlanta can genuinely use an autoclave and an ultrasound. If you know of a dx that has one please have them email us.

You get the feeling that it's a hoax when you receive the email.

What is PAWS Atlanta?

PAWS Atlanta is a humane society located in Decatur, Georgia, just 10 minutes east of Atlanta.

As a no kill shelter the cats and dogs in PAWS Atlanta's care stay there until they get adopted. Every pet adopted from PAWS Atlanta is spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, de wormed and microchipped.

The cats at PAWS Atlanta live in a cage free environment.

The dogs at PAWS Atlanta have inside and outside dog runs and a one acre wooded dog trail an off leash area.

In our 43rd year of operation PAWS Atlanta started operations as The Dekalb Humane Society. The name was changed in 2006 because of the incorrect perception that Dekalb County funded the organization.






In fact PAWS Atlanta has always operated on donations from the public, grants and fundraisers.



Most of the animals at PAWS Atlanta are picked up from local animal control offices. Unfortunately the supply is always greater than the demand and our cage space is rarely empty. Having said that PAWS Atlanta does adopt more than 1,000 animals a year. The sad fact of pet overpopulation dictates that regardless of how effective we are at finding them homes, there will always be more.



PAWS Atlanta does offer a vaccination clinic at least twice a month that is open to the public. This allows folks to get their pets vaccinated for $45 or to get a heartworm test or a la carte shots.




PAWS Atlanta can use help in a number of different ways.



Pass the word about one of our great cats or dogs to your circles of influence.

Volunteer. We need folks to get walk dogs, socialize dogs, clean cat litter trays, tape animals (then upload them to YouTube) and more.

First Friday in East Atlanta Village, August 7

August 7, all day long in the East Atlanta Village you can help support homeless animals.

1. 1. Just go into any business in The East Atlanta Village that has a balloon in front.
2. 2. Behind the counter they'll have a logo, very similar to the one to your left.
3. 3. Donate any amount that you like.
4. 4. Dozens of cats and dogs will be dancing because you love them.
5. ...and PAWS Atlanta will receive that money.

You'll see a PAWS Atlanta dog or two along the way in East Atlanta. We'll be there, reminding you of how much your support is needed and to participate in a wrap up snack at Holy Taco.

Proceeds from participating stores will be taken all day!!

Where are the dog adoptions?

The good news is that 6 pets have been adopted so far in July.

The odd news is that they have all been cats!

The cats are happy.
