Correction: In the article about 'greening' your cat we incorrectly stated that it was OK for flushable cat litter to go down septic systems. That is a typographical error and should have stated that septic system owners should not flush flushable cat litter. PAWS Atlanta regrets that error.

Over the weekend I was running some errands and saw a dog in a car while the owners were inside.

Dogs can overheat in a very short amount of time in a car. A friend turned me on to this site:

Animal Planet's, It's me or the Dog is having a casting call. So your dog has flunked out of obedience school and is still wreaking havoc in your relationship, who cares?

Who cares? Are you serious? It is not over. YOU are the master of your domain and your dog CAN be trained!

Victoria Stilwell, host of It's me or the Dog has seen it all and can help your dog become a normal part of your house.

Bring your stories and dog photos. You don't have to bring your dog, but if it's something that has to been seen to be believed, then bring em too.

The Meat Puppets at Decatur CD, 6/16, 6:30

Big shout outs to Decatur CD!

On June 16 the legendary band, The Meat Puppets are playing a show at The Earl in East Atlanta.

On their way to that show the band will be stopping by Decatur CD to play a couple songs and sign some autographs.

A live, in store performance from The Meat Puppets. There is no charge to attend and dogs are welcome!

PAWS Atlanta will be there accepting donations and may have a couple dogs there too.

A free mini concert at Decatur CD from The Meat Puppets on June 16, 6:30. Yeah, it's free, but if you want to donate some money because you feel guilty for seeing arguable the most influential alternative band ever, then the proceeds will go to PAWS Atlanta.

Who are The Meat Puppets? Your alternative music guru friend knows. They are the band that influenced Nirvana, Soundgarden and Dinosaur Jr. The Meat Puppets, influenced them.

If you've ever listened to any college radio or any alternative station you've heard some of their songs and the bands that they've influenced.

June 16, 6:30 a live in store performance from The Meat Puppets at Decatur CD. They'll be signing autographs and doodling for PAWS Atlanta. Make a donation to PAWS Atlanta and they'll draw a custom made doodle and autograph!

The A Town Dancers came by to cheer us up!

Here's a behind the scenes look at the Comcast On Demand taping.

They tape every four weeks at PAWS Atlanta and highlight 10 dogs and 5 cats. The profiles are then shown on Comcast On Demand, just go to channel 1 and click on "Get Local", then "Pet Adoption".


Vera and Danielle, from the A Town dancers were here to help promote some of the great pets available for adoption.



These pet profiles can be seen on Comcast On Demand in the 2nd week of June, be sure to look for them!

95 people were seen yesterday!

Yikes, the vaccination clinic yesterday was bananas!

Over 95 people got discount vaccinations for their pets. The next clinic is Sunday, June 7 from 1-3.

After that it's Wed, June 10 from 9:30-3:30 and Sunday June 28, 1-3.

We've also got some great dogs and cats looking for homes. Come by and see them!

Sometimes people will say, 'but I can get a free one from the parking lot of a store'. We try to get them up to speed about the costs of owning a dog.
